Our Beliefs

Our Beliefs This blog entry asked of one person that I recognized to have the same belief as me. The belief that is most important to me. Maybe, that belief that I chose is Christianity. There's multiple people that come to mind but the most special person that comes to mind is my late aunt Cathy. She basically wore a halo around her and she didn't even recognize it but everyone she came in contact with, always noticed the beam of light coming from her. I recognized that light as Jesus' love. She was not one to drink alcohol, smoke, and I never heard her say a curse word a day in my life. She shined her saintly light and I strive to have a light just as bright as hers some day.

This I Believe-Thirty Things I Believe

"This I Believe- Thirty Things I Believe" "Thirty Things I Believe" by Tarak McLain was written in the first grade when he was seven years old. It was the hundredth day of school and he chose to write his beliefs instead of taking a simple show and tell like the other children. As a seven year old you never really think about things like, war, love, christianity and so many more traits but Mr. McLain did. Some of the beliefs that this young child wrote could change the world. I'll tell you about some of the beliefs. One was ' I believe war should stop.' What a powerful message from a child. His mind grasped the concept of hurt and danger. Another belief of his was 'I believe that love is everywhere.' This is a belief I find to be really impacting. He also says 'I believe God is everywhere.' He's a young child that already has the faith as strong as an ox. I will strive to show off my beliefs as he did someday. To put my words out i...

This I Believe- The Art of Being A Neighbor

"This I Believe- The Art Of Being A Neighbor" "The Art Of  Being A Neighbor" by Eve Birch is a little insight into the 'American Dream'. She tried so hard to work for that dream of a basic white picket fence. Turns out that the dream turned into reality. Through some hard times she found herself renting a home in the middle of nowhere to her. She was lost but the kind neighbors around her wanted her to know that she was not alone. The neighbors offered her company and some men offered gifts to court her but she liked her singleness. After constant hard work she ended up poor and the art of being a neighbor that was poor as well truly helped her get through her rough patch in life. Be a friendly neighbor because youre not very sure of what that person might be going through.

This I Believe- Listening Is Powerful Medicine

"This I Believe- Listening Is Powerful Medicine" "Listening Is Powerful Medicine" by Dr. Alicia Conill is a powerful essay about taking a moment to listen to others. I will tell you about some of the pointers that the author gives on listening. The first one is to sit down to listen so the person that is talking can recognize your attention for their story. The second teaching is to make eye contact meaning to not look at notes or computer. The last note is to put your hand on the patient. Focus on the story and let the person talking know that you are all ears. Sometimes people need to talk to release built up energy wether it's good energy or energy that is hurting them. So, I urge you to sit sometime and just be all ears.

6 Secrets To College Success

6 Secrets to College Success The six secrets to college success and why... I want to start out with the first "secret" I feel that is most important. The most important is needing to work hard outside of the classroom. Speaking for myself, I definitely have a full life with barely any time to do anything other than work, go to school, and do homework. I need to strive to make more time to work on homework assignments and study. The second secret is to go to class every day. You are constantly learning new things and for busy college students, a day out of class can really be a big step back. The third secret is to turn off your phone and i find that a big problem in distraction. I get distracted by my phone easily because I think someone needs me but I am going to start working on that by leaving my phone on vibration. The fourth secret is meeting other/new people in class. I haven't made any friends in college yet. I usually just got to school then got to work but I w...

What Do I Hope To Get Out Of Class?

What do I hope to get out of this class? This year, I hope to get out of this class better writing skills. In this case, better typing skills. I enjoy writing. I feel as though its a way of expression. I feel like I never have time to write. There's so many ways to feel fulfilled like reading, writing, painting, even going on a walk or go running. I hope this class gives me more time to express my thoughts. That is a skill I would like to improve. What i really hope to learn in this class is better writing skills and find more time to express my thoughts wether it is blogging or writing.

The Introduction Of Me

The Introduction of Me Hi, I want to start by introducing my name. My name is Taylor BrieAnne Eiland. I honestly go by my middle name, Brie, to most of everyone and my last name recently got changed to Eiland instead of Cantrell. All of my classes say 'Cantrell' because I keep forgetting to bring my marriage licenses to the main office. I got married to the love of my life in November. November 16, 2019 to be exact. I am young and married.... I get that that is crazy. Especially, for this generation. I am 20 and my husband is 21. We have a pitbull named Diesel, a cat named River, and a beta fish named, Sushi. I have lived in Seale, Al since August. I moved to Seale from Reeltown, Al which is a little over an hour away. Reeltown is a very tiny town so moving here was very different. I lived here for 5 months and haven't had the chance to make any new friends yet and all of my family lives in Reeltown so, the only people I have down here is my husband, Trevor and his fami...
