Compare/Contrast Blog

The first essay "Columbus and the moon", is about the National Aeronautics and Space Administrations (NASA). NASA made a series of voyages and landed 6 men on the moon. Columbus made four voyages that he thought was the east coast of Asia. In result of theses two missions the both of them has to constantly ask the government for money to fund all of the voyages. The second essay "Life in a Bundle of Letters", talks about how letters used to be the way of communication then cell phones become popular basically, taking over lives. The two topics are comparison by communication. Both essays compare and contrast two different topics. Life in a Bundle of Letters is a discussion of cell phones taking over everyone's ability for in-person communication. We do not care of the world around us but only what our friends are doing miles away. While in Mexico, people are worried about posting how their vacation is going for others than just living in the moment. It is like...

3 Types of High School Teachers

3 Types of High School Teachers High school teachers are the people that basically raise you into a grown up for the real world. They teach you everything primal to survive for education, real life situations, and career wise. One of my high school teachers definitely focused on the teaching aspect so we could be more wise for the future. Like, she would make us read and dissect book after book after book to be  more informative and see the deeper side of things. Another one of my high school teachers absolutely amazing in being not only a teacher but a friend. He would push you to be your upmost best in the classroom but in other situations with clubs and that reflected on real-life situations. The last that comes to mind would focus on what career path the student would want to take and let that student focus on those main criteria's to be the best at their choice of career. That teacher would help search for jobs and what education process was needed. All these different teac...

3 Types of Friends I Have

3 Types of Friends I Have I will be talking about the three types of friends I have. The first type of friend is what my friend group calls the "mom" of the group. The "mom" of the group would be Kayli. She is a planner and makes sure everyone is well taken care of. One time at a party I remember Kayli calling each of us to make sure we were okay and we were safe at home. I appreciate her for that. My other friend, Makenzie or Kenzie for short is definitely the more fun and wild one of the group. She is the one who talks you into drinking more or to be more adventurous. I would also, say that she is hilarious in a goofy but serious way, if that makes sense. She is hands-down the funniest of the group but also the one that will listen and help you with anything you need. She is well needed and open-hearted. Now, my third friend is the wise, brutally-honest friend. Her name is Sage. She has been my friend since seventh grade. She is a great friend that tells it lik...

The Second Essay Opinion

The 2nd Essay This essay I feel as though, is definitely more difficult. I struggle with writing in 3rd person. Examples and works cited are also difficult for me. Works cited takes a lot of researching, studying, and thinking. If you miss one detail on the works cited it is automatically wrong. That is a part of what makes works cited difficult. You either have it down or you do not. It is a gamble turning them in. Examples are difficult for me because my brain goes dead once it tries to find something to reference. Examples are easy when knowing the item you are referencing. Writing in 3rd person is difficult because I want to talk about my situations and make it more personal but with an illustrative essay its more of an example essay not personal. So, I will need help to keep on track with examples, work cited, and 3rd person writing.

When to Cite

When to Cite In an essay works citing is crucial to avoid plagiarism. When citing a quote, information, fact, and research you will need to site the details of the article. Writing an article and quoting a book or website then you would type the author, date written, the name of the article and etc. If i quote Harry Potter then I would need to know the author and what page the quote is from in the book. For example, in Maya Angelou's book 'I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings' she says  “Instead, pursue the things you love doing, and then do them so well that people can't take their eyes off you”(32).

Help with MLA Format

Help with MLA Format MLA Format is difficult in remembering every single detail that goes in to it. Every detail matters. If you mess up one thing then its an automatic 'you do not have it'... I need help with remembering every tiny detail. Like, putting the page number and your last name will be confusing to me for a little while til i get the hang of it. In class, I would like to cover a little bit more of the works cited and the steps of what to put where and what are some things that wont be put in some MLA formats. For example, I did a works cited page the other day and there was no Publisher to be found but it would've been nice to know instead of me looking for it for 15 minutes. Works cited will need a lot of practice and I speak about that for everyone in the class, as well.

College Students Everyday Life Struggles

College Student's Everyday Life Struggles I believe there is some truth in college students struggling through schoolwork while everyday life is constantly happening around us. I have personal experience in this case. I go to school, work, and i am a newly-wed. As a college student, I go Monday thru Thursday. As an employee, I work in between, before, and after school time. As a newly-wed, I am constantly cleaning, cooking, and spending family time with my husband. College students need time for class, homework, and studying which takes hours of a persons time. Employees are working for their means to live. That means I can't not work if i want to go to college. Being a newly-wed comes with trial and error of married ways. I come home to make sure my husband comes home to a clean house, and I cook most nights unless, we go out on a date. Sometimes, I even think days do not have enough hours. Your suppose to sleep for at least 8 hours so that leaves sixteen hours of college, ...
